How Drive thinks

Drive is where your working files live — a folder tree that behaves like the file explorer you already know. The difference is what happens around a file: articles, collections, and approval workflows reference your files by link instead of keeping copies, so replacing a file once updates every place that points to it.

Nothing here is ever hard-deleted — removed items can be restored, and every replacement keeps the older version reachable. If your library currently lives in Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox, you can bring it over rather than re-uploading by hand.
