Three shapes, three jobs: folders store, galleries present, collections group. One file can appear in all three — and it's still one file.

Where things live

1. Drive folders hold working files, in a tree that behaves like the file explorer you know.
2. Media galleries present finished assets — with previews, filters, and per-language publishing.
3. Collections group anything from anywhere — files, articles, whole folders — without moving it.

Reference, not copy

The organizing trick everything else builds on: putting something in a collection, or showing it in a guideline article, creates a reference to the one real file. Replace that file once and every article and collection that points to it shows the new version — no stale copies, ever.

Tip: a file's details panel shows where it's referenced — the "used in" count is how you know what a replacement will touch.
