Set up a selection round

A selection round is a shared workspace where the team picks the best out of a candidate pile together — with rules you set once, and that lock the moment voting opens.

Choose the rules

1. Pick the voting mode. Pick mode — the team picks and rejects — or Rating mode, where everyone scores each candidate from 1 to 10.
2. Decide on blind and weighted. Blind hides running totals and each other's votes until the round closes; weighted makes a senior voter's ballot count for more. Curator-led rounds let curators watch the tallies while everyone else stays blind.
3. Set the target and the deadline. How many winners you want — or leave it open-ended and let the votes decide — and a deadline, so voting closes on its own at that moment. Nobody has to remember.

Tip: who decides, blind, and weighted all lock the moment voting opens — nobody can change the rules mid-round. Name the round in every language your brand works in.

Before it can open

A round can't open until it has at least one candidate and one participant — an empty vote isn't a vote. Your rounds list keeps you oriented with tabs for what needs your vote, what's active, yours, shared with you, and closed; it opens on what needs your vote, with a counter and a caught-up state when you're done.
