Nothing sits open forever unless you want it to. Deadlines remind the right people, close what nobody decided, and keep every lane honest about what's waiting on whom.

Deadlines that do something

1. Set a due date when you start the review — or add one later.
2. Reminders go out twenty-four hours before — and only to reviewers who still owe a decision. Nobody is nagged for work they finished.
3. If the deadline passes undecided, the review closes itself as changes requested, so nothing lingers open forever. No due date? Then nothing is scheduled and the review waits as long as it needs to.

Tip: moving or clearing a due date reschedules or cancels the reminder automatically — and pushing a deadline out cancels the pending auto-close with it.
